MCK Election Law amendments, 30-Day review Process begins The Kahnawà:ke Legislative Coordinating Commission (KLCC) would like to inform the community that the draft of the proposed amendments to the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Election Law are now available to the community on-line at kahnawakemakingdecisions. The draft, which includes twenty-one (21) proposed amendments, was created as a result of the Community Decision Making Process Consultations held on 28 Enníska/ February and 20 Enniskó:wa/M arch, 2012. The KLCC is also announcing the launching of the 30-day Review Period for this document. Feedback forms are available on the website. Any and all feedback should be directed to Trina C. Diabo, who is the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke technician assigned to coordinate the amendment process. Feedback/comments will be accepted until Friday, 27 Seskehkó:wa/September at 4pm. Once the Review Period ends, a report will be compiled and made available to the community. The KLCC has yet to assign a date for the second round of Community Consultations; however, it is expected that meetings on this topic will resume in the fall. Three documents (the current Election Law; the draft amendments; and a synopsis of the amendments) are available on the website. Hard copies are also available upon request by contacting Trina C.
