MDC manifesto launched Sunday 21st July 2013 - 12:00 PM Thousands of BaTonga electorate attended the launch of the MDC Manifesto in Binga at Siachilaba Business Centre. Dance, ululation, praise and singing graced the launch of the MDC Manifesto as a sign of appreciating the honour bestowed to the once looked down upon Binga community. It was all praise and joy as the BaTonga Community welcomed the Green Team in Binga. Addressing the people during the launch of MDC Manifesto, President Welshman Ncube said that it was not by mistake to launch the MDC Manifesto in Binga but for a purpose, as the manifesto will be used in the rebuilding of a new Zimbabwe. “It is not by accident that we are launching it here in Binga, it is by design, by purpose and deliberate. We want to make a statement by that our manifesto is a manifesto for the marginalised. “MDC is the party for the poor who want to work and people who are suffering and those looked down upon. It’s a party for the industrious, honest, disciplined and poor people,” said President Ncube. “The manifesto we are launching it is our covenant and agreement that we will be with the people through thick and thin, it is a manifesto for dev and it will apply the actions that we will take and give power to the people. It is the marginalised people, province who need devolution not yesterday but today. Binga is the most marginalised district in Zimbabwe and we have sent a message to prove that by launching our manifesto here,” he added President Ncube said the MDC Manifesto has three pillars, governance, economic and social agenda. “Zimbabwe in 33 years failed because we are ruled under the model that takes away power from the people and bestow it to an individual in Harare and it is a model of a patrimonial state. “Zimbabwe in the past three decades was under the leadership of corrupt and greedy people. MDC is the only party that can build Zimbabwe brick by brick. Mugabe and Morgan cannot be able to rebuild Zimbabwe because the Government of National Unity was a window period for the people of Zimbabwe to see the leadership similarities that the two have,” he said MDC Manifesto was launched under the theme entitled “Actions for Devolution-Devolution is our new revolution.
