MDC takes election campaign launch to Chikomba As the election race hots up, the MDC has announced that it will conduct its election launch in Chikomba, Mashonaland East on 12 July, which will be a build up to the party’s manifesto launch a week later in Binga. MDC President, Professor Welshman Ncube made this announcement while addressing marathon district assemblies meetings in Silobela, Nkayi, Bulilima East and West constituencies this past week. Addressing a district assembly meeting in Bulilima East yesterday, Prof. Ncube assured party members of victory in the forthcoming election. He said the Government of National Unity had played a pivotal role in exposing the dishonest and selfish nature of President Robert Mugabe and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai. Prof Ncube urged MDC members to work hard and campaign vigorously to make sure that the party that brought devolution wins elections. “Let us encourage our neighbors, friends and family to vote for MDC in the forthcoming elections so that we defend devolution of power. MDC-T and Zanu-PF have never been in support of devolution of power. Mugabe and Tsvangirai do not understand devolution, so how can they implement something they do not understand,” said President Ncube. “Mugabe and Tsvangirai are only interested in feeding their families and letting the masses starve. Tsvangirai spent the whole of GNU period drinking tea with Mugabe, calling our Green team village politicians and at the last minute when he realises that the GNU is about to elapse, he wants to unite with the termites and village politicians whom he despises so much,” added the President. The MDC is in full election mode and has been conducting campaign activities on a daily basis country wide.
