ME: What time should I pick Zoey up from the playdate today? FRIEND: 1:00? Can she stay for lunch? Awww shit, here’s where I start to panic. Because I totally want her to, but it’s her first playdate there and what if they don’t have one of her three food groups? Because she’ll be there for over three hours and if she doesn’t eat she’s going to turn into a raging monster and well, you know, that would suck. ME: (cringing) She’s the pickiest eater on earth. Can I send her with a lunch? Aghhhhhhh, I CAN’T BELIEVE I JUST DID THAT!!!!!! Yes, I’m that a-hole. The mom who’s sending her kid with a lunch to an F’ing playdate. The mom who thinks her kid is going to starve to death if she skips one itty bitty meal. The mom who can’t let her kid deal with it and teaches her to be a total diva pussy. Awesome. Apparently, the reason my kid is a little a-hole is that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
