MEANINGS IN GESTURES - There are several gestures that I see utilized by Egyptian dancers that I am curious about the meaning. This clip of a wedding party in Egypt with the dancer Aziza and two singers (Mohammed Abdel Mun3im and then Amina) during the more informal portion of the festivity shows Aziza making the three gestures that I am most curious about: 1) the small, circular adding spice/seasoning gesture (2:50 is the first instance, but she does it a number of other times as does Mohammed Abdel); 2) the small, raised arm, flicking of the fingers/shooing gesture (4:41 and multiple other times); and a third gesture that I could have sworn I saw on this clip, but Ive watched it a couple more times and dont seem to see it definitively... 3) the arms raised with pointing the index finger down.
