MEASLES BIGGEST THREAT OF 2014 By Genesis KETAN For the National Emergency Response and Surveillance Team in the Health Department, the biggest threat of 2014 would be the measles virus. That’s the word from the Team Manager Mr Berry Ropa. Ropa says measles was the biggest outbreak that had effect nationwide in the year gone by, among the other usual diseases. Although the situation on that front looks to have settled down, the Health Department is still keeping tabs on it. Ropa adds that his department is currently accumulating data for the total number of cases reported and deaths along with various challenges faced in the combat of this outbreak. Meanwhile, it is understood that outer centres will also have to submit their patient records to achieve this.
