MEC caught speeding in bling Bentley Johannesburg - A Western Cape MEC was arrested for allegedly speeding along the N1 South near Midrand, Johannesburg metro police said on Tuesday. The MEC was caught driving at 207km/h in a 120km/h zone in the early hours of Sunday morning, said spokesperson Wayne Minnaar. He then failed to stop for the metro police officers who had to chase him and cut him off in his gold Bentley on Corlett Drive, said Minnaar. The MEC was immediately arrested and charged with reckless and negligent driving. He was taken to the Midrand police station where he was later released on R1 500 bail.
