MECHANISMS OF CONTACT Working for a “higher intelligence agency” Joseph Burkes MD 2014 On a Closed Group FB page I was asked to comment on the contact material of the writer Don Elkins who was reportedly a close personal friend of AndrijaPuharich MD. Dr Pucharich is the author of the Uri: A Journal of the Mystery of Uri Geller (1974) My edited reply is as follows. Thank you.. (NAME OF COMMENTER DELETED) for discussing Dr. Pucharichs book URI and describing the role that your friend Don played as described in your narrative. This important personal account by a fellow MD influenced me greatly. Not in terms of the spiritual teachings contained in Dr Puharichs work that Dr. Jacques Vallee found incomprehensible (as did I) but rather as a kind of manual demonstrating how this mostly unseen intelligence that we call ET can recruit and train what I have described in previous blogs as prime contactees. Uri Gellers story is quite fascinating and I highly recommend that UFO fans read about him. As individuals we all have our limitations. I am painfully aware of some of mine. My background is primarily secular, left wing political and materialistic in the philosophical sense. My spiritual education didnt really start till I was integrated into the contact network at age 42. As a result of my background many concepts that others find spiritually advanced, I truly cannot understand. This applies to most channeled material. In contrast I find my own past-channeled material of great personal interest because it took the form of what Linda Irwin of the Unseen World FB page has labeled a contact download.” This is apparently a form of communication that many other experiencers have described. The substance of these strange psi mediated events is in my view a co-creation of human and non-human intelligence. “Downloads” may not reveal anything of great value in terms of the specific narratives, but this type of communication is of great interest because they give me insight into the mechanisms of the contact experience. Contact downloads show how UFO Intel works. I now see their interactions with contactees as if we were agents of influence to borrow an espionage term. The “Contact Underground” is what I call the loose network of contactees that I imagine I am part of. Following this intelligence-counter intelligence metaphor our non-human case officers are running what can be seen as a very sophisticated higher intelligence agency operation. My guess is that this intelligence operation will unfold over generations if not centuries. Playing a role in what I imagine is some kind of ET master plan and experiencing a sense of mission with other contact activists is one of the psychological forces that motivates me. Admittedly this sounds rather strange, but I suspect that I am not alone in this unusual sense of having a “mission” in the worldwide contact drama. I offer this perspective as an explanation as to why I find the spiritual teachings from channeled material to be beyond my personal limitations. In fact I begin to wonder whether much of this information from “higher intelligences” is a kind of a smoke screen, possibly being part of an elaborate “control mechanism” that Dr Vallee discusses in his many fascinating books on flying saucers. So to answer your question as to what I think of the RA material, I must say that I dont know what to think about it. This applies to most of channeled material, but thank you anyway for giving me a chance to share these thoughts and feelings.
