MEDIA ADVISORY re Gender Fair Media Training The Provincial Commission on Women (PCW) in cooperation with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), will hold a “Gender Fair Media Training” to orient and familiarize local media practitioners on the gender equality guidelines to Protect Women against Discrimination in mainstream and social media. The event is scheduled on November 21 (Friday) which will start at 8:00 am at 4th Floor, Provincial Convention Hotel, Capitol Area, Dumaguete City. This is in pursuant to Memo Circular No. 48 issued by the Office of the President on May 30, 2013 directing all government agencies to adopt the gender equality guidelines in the development of their respective media policies and R.A. 9710, otherwise known as “The Magna Carta of Women”.
