However, the Army also lost five of its soldiers and two senior police officers in the attack. The encounter started in the Mohura area of Uri at around 3 am on Friday morning when six terrorists tried to get inside an Army fortification in the area. A senior Army officer and two jawans are among the three men killed in the gunbattle. Two senior police officers who were present to supervise the operation have also been killed in the encounter.
