MEDIA RELEASE For immediate release March 4, 2014 Give a Little Love to Mirabeau Point Park SPOKANE VALLEY, WASH--- Now you can express your love for Mirabeau Point Park in the form of a donation to the Heart Your Park program from March 7 through March 31 at the Spokane Valley Mall Macys store. The park was selected by local Macys store personnel to receive contributions from the program, a cooperative effort between the national retailer and the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA). Macys customers will be offered the opportunity make donations benefiting Mirabeau Point Park when they check out with their purchases. Donations may be made in any amount of one dollar or more. A purchase is not required to make a donation to the program, and donors can request a form to document their donations for tax deduction purposes. Macys will match its customers donations to the program dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000 nationwide to benefit local parks. Donations to the program at the local Macys store will support improvements, operations and maintenance of Mirabeau Point Park, a popular educational, recreational, and cultural destination. Located in the heart of Spokane Valley on Mirabeau Parkway just northeast of Pines and Indiana, the park is enjoyed by the local community as well as visitors from around the region. The beloved Discovery Playground is located there, as are Mirabeau Trails Natural Area and Mirabeau Springs waterfall. Mirabeau Point Park is site of Spokane Valleys premier community event, ValleyFest, and is also the location of the citys premier regional event center, CenterPlace. The Spokane Valley Parks and Recreation Department is honored that Mirabeau Point Park has been selected as a participant in the Heart Your Park program, and welcomes the communitys support of one of our citys most beautiful areas.
