MEDIATOR OF THE NEW COVENANT. For this is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony borne at the proper time. And to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. ( 1 Timothy 2:5-6) But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises. (Hebrews 12:24) And for this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, in order that since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may received the promise of the eternal inheritance. (Hebrews 8:6) For when every command- ment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the Law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people. (Hebrews 9:15) Now where there is forgive- ness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin. ( Hebrews 9:19) Since therefore, brethren, we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart to full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil con- science and our bodies washed with pure water. ( Hebrews 10:18-22) according to the foreknowl- edge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be yours is fullest mea- sure.
