MEDICAL ENTRY TEST 2013 As many as 19,486 students seeking admissions in the medical colleges ofKhyber Pakhtunkhwa appeared in the entry test here Sunday. Three centres were set up by the authorities for the purpose in Peshawar, Abbottabad and Swat. The entry test was simultaneously held at three different centres include Islamia Collegiate Hockey Ground and Cricket Ground of University of Peshawar, Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad and Grassy Ground Saidu Sharif Swat. A total of 19,486 candidates from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Fata, AJK, Gilgit Baltistan, Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh appeared in the Entry Test. The results of the test will be announced today and would be available on KMU website kmu.edu.pk as well as on ETEA website etea.edu.pk. In addition to the result would also be communicated to the entire applicants individually via SMS through specially prepared software by IT Department of KMU. According to details at Peshawar Centre, a total of 13,818 candidates appeared in the test with 2,935 candidates at Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad and some 2,733 candidates were appeared on GrassyGround Saidu Sharif Swat for admission in medical and dental colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Altogether 10,785 male candidates and 8,701 female candidates appeared in all the above mentionedthree centres. The test was conducted by the Educational Testing and Evaluating Agency (ETEA) of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while the logistics for the registration and conduction of the test was provided by Khyber Medical University (KMU) Peshawar. It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) Islamabad has made it mandatory the appearance in the Entry Test for admission in Medical and Dental Institutions of both public and private sectors. The Vice-Chancellor of KMU Prof Dr Mohammad Hafizullah, who was present on the occasion, expressed his satisfaction over the arrangements for the holding the Entry Test. He said for the first time test was held at University of Peshawar at two places and a new centre has been also introduced at Mingora Swat. He said the increasing number of candidates for appearing in the ETEATest shown a great trust on the arrangements and transparent process of the test carried out jointly by KMU and ETEA. He hoped that after introducing on line registration and establishment of new centre at Swat the reforms process would be continued in future.
