MEDITATIONS: (perhaps not “midnight”) It will take a real movement of the Holy Spirit to make a difference, but I am genuinely heart sick when I see “faithful church members” (in church after church) who prefer to let their church die (or kill it outright) rather than face (in their lifetime) the changes necessary to revitalize our ministry and fulfill our mission for Christ. We need to take a lesson from the experience of the Jews (in particular their religious leaders) who rejected the Gospel in favor of their “place” and their “traditions”! Jesus said, “… whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.” (Mt. 8:35) He also said, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
