MEET THE BAND - We would like for you to get to know each member of Led Zepagain by telling you a little about their musical background as well as some other fun facts that you may not know. This week, we are profiling the bass half of our rhythm section. Jim Wootten - Bass, Keys, Mandolin, 12 String Guitar and Bass Pedals. Following High School, Jim attended Rio Hondo College to continue studying music. During that time, he played in a couple of cover and original bands, with one of them getting serious airplay from Rodney Bingenheimer on KROQ. But one of the most significant things that happened during this time occurred when Jim joined a Beatles tribute band named Revolver. The drummer of that band was Jims high school buddy and someone you Fab Four fans might recognize, Rolo Sandoval. Jim credits the Beatle experience as being the training ground for his eventual role as John Paul Jones with Zepagain. Having to replicate what Paul McCartney did with the Beatles forced me to not only learn the piano, but the guitar as well, not to mention the vocal responsibilities. That was the most accelerated period in the development of my musicianship.
