MEET THE PEOPLE TOUR OF HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS, THE EMIR OF BAUCHI ALH (DR) RILWANU SULEIMAN ADAMU C F R NIM. His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bauchi Alhaji (Dr) Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu was turbaned as the 11 Emir of Bauchi on 30 July, 2010 after the demise of his father the 10 Emir of Bauchi Alh (Dr) Suleiman Adamu CFR. After staying on the throne of three years he decided to go round to all District Headquarters of his Emirate to meet his subjects and to listen to their various complaints. It also gave His Royal Highness the opportunity to physically see their condition of living with a view to proper solution to that difficult situation within his competence of the Emirate Council and pass that problem to State Government for further necessary action The tour started from Liman Katagum Headquarters of Liman katagum District and home to his senior District Head, Galadiman Bauchi where he was treated with colourful durbar, traditional drummers and dancers at the domain of the District Head. Galadiman Bauchi praised the state government for the provision of basic amenities to the area and complain for more bore-holes, school, health, road, fertilizer and other farming implements. Also in his address, the Chairman of Bauchi Local government showed econums to the state government for providing people oriented project to the area. He praised the emir for such visit which would give them hope and self belonging. In his address the emir of Bauchi enjoined the people to fear Allah, to be their brothers keepers, to discipline their children, to enrol them in religious and western education schools, to monitor the movement of strangers who might come to the area, to embrace agriculture, preserve food and pay zakkat. He also thanked the people for offering prayers for peace and urges them not to relent but to continue to pray for lasting peace and prosperity. All District with in the emirate were visited inspite of difficulties of roads leading to the district Headquarters. The entourage have to cross rivers on corn stark bridges (Gadan Kara), steep hills, erosion damaged roads and gauges most of the area produce abundant agricultural products such as sugar cane maize guinea corn, millet, rice, bambara nut, tiger millet to mention but a few and some economic trees: mangoes, oranges, but have no access roads. Most of the goods are transported to market on cart pull by bulls, donkeys and small members of 4 wheel drive vehcle due to the condition of bad roads. In some areas there are no health centres or where they exist are left without staff to man them, more schools are needed particularly boarding school due to poos condition of the parents and distance. Most of the areas visited has as usual complain of lack of sufficient water supply to people and animal consumption Details of discoveries and complains district by district will be given in His Royal Highness Touring Reports.
