MEETING THE THE FIRST RESPONDERS that saved Jack on the scene. Jack and the Fletcher family took a drive up towards Mt. Hood to meet personally with the Hoodland Fire Deportment on Thursday, October 9th. What an experience to chat with those that saved him! Group photo from left to right: Linn Norgard/battalion chief Joe schwab/paramedic Evan Jarvis/paramedic Melinda Revere/volunteer Jack McEby/ fire chief Scott Kline/senior firefighter, Fire Marshall, paramedic From Kelly: We went to Hoodland Fire Department today and met some of the first responders at the scene of Jacks accident today. It was a wonderful experience to meet these heros. Not only did they take care of Jack that day, they take care of people in need everyday! They are a unique breed who are an example of compassionate people who truly care for others. We cant begin to tell you how appreciative we are that this group of fine people were there that day to assist Jack and the many others that were involved as well. We learned that everyone, with, what we believe was an orchestrated plan by God, carried out their duties in the most professional way. A truly heartfelt thanks is what we would like to express to each and every one who did all they could that day so that we have Jack with us today in the shape that he is. They were also kind enough to present Jack with a Hoodland Fire Department t-shirt, baseball cap, and patch. And an open invitation to come see them anytime. After that, I took Jack to visit Chaplain Sam and he has named Jack, Battalion Chief of special projects at his house where he is restoring classic cars and an old fire house in Ridgefield! It was a busy day but very positive. Oh, and he had his first McDonalds filet of fish and French fries on Thursday too! :-)
