The tune “Mele Kalikimaka” (meaning “Merry Christmas” in Hawaiian) was written in 1949 by Hawaii-born composer Robert Alex Anderson—who lived to be 101 years old. It’s been covered dozens of times, but none so famously as Bing Crosby and The Andrews Sisters in 1950, just a year after it was inked. 7. On the other side of the music spectrum, Addiction nightclub will host the biggest names and DJ talent in the Pacific on New Year’s Eve. If you like EDM, bottle service, and dressing “to the nines,” this year’s Vegas themed party is the spot to be December 31.
