MEN! Can not live with them...and certainly can not live without MOST of them! Harold Bruce came up on Friday for the weekend....looked like crap when he got here...stating that he was having difficulty breathing. He seemed better after he rested from his drive north from Indiana. Yesterday he seemed pretty good...going on river pick ups with Mike to kill some time. Shared supper with us last night. Well, this am...he went to the gas station to fill his truck for his return home trip today...and started to drive away...could not see and suddenly crashed into a pole putting a dent in his truck...thankfully he was OK himself and was soon able to see again. Drove back to campground. We fed him lunch as had a wienie roast with employees for lunch today and took some doggies down to Harold. He said he did not know if could drive home. So worked out my schedule in the office. Sent most of the crew home. Kept Keith here to run last couple pickups and we told Harold would be ready to take him home about 330. Mike got done with his pick up of a racing canoe down by Newaygo and I ran to the gas station to fill the Jeep. We both got back about the same time...YEP HAROLD WAS GONE. Took off for home. I will be on pins and needles for the next two hours I guess until I find out that he is home safely. Like I said...MEN!!!!!
