“MENLOM” (A Deaf lady living in the Himalaya Mountains of North India.) She represents a world of Deaf With chances next to none To hear that there salvation is Through God’s beloved Son. She represents a world of Deaf Who need to know the Lord, Who need to know of Calvary And grace Christ doth afford. She represents a world of Deaf Who know not how to read, Who cannot study God’s dear Word Their souls to daily feed. She represents a world of Deaf Who know not how to sign, And cannot, thus, communicate The Heav’nly and Divine. She represents a world of Deaf Awaiting still a man To somehow tell them of God’s love And His salvation’s plan. © Written by WDB on February 26, 2012. Common Meter: 8.6.8.6. This poem was inspired through praying for Menlom on February 26, 2012 but was finished on May 31, 2013 between Atlanta and Chattanooga while returning from a survey missions trip in Gabon and Cameroon, Africa. Story: While walking down the street one day in Libreville, Gabon, I heard a noise that I identified as being that of a Deaf person. Sure enough, a Deaf man was working in a house and I tried to communicate with him but he knew basically no signs. Sad. Who will tell him of Christ?
