MERCHANT NAVY ADMISSIONS Eligibility Criteria Educational Qualifications: Pass in 10+2 examination from a recognized Board/University with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM), with not less than 55% marks in PCM aggregate. Or With Physics as an individual subject in any one of the years of B. Sc with not less than 50% marks in the final year of B. Sc from a recognized University provided that the candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized board. Or B. E. /B. Tech or its equivalent degree from I.I.T or from a college recognized by AICTE/UGC. English: Should have passed with not less than 50% marks in English as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in the Degree programme conducted by a recognized Board/University. Age Company specific, recommended - age should be between 18 to 28 years by the date given in the advertisement. Relaxation upto maximum 30 years age for bonafide seamen, who can produce evidence of sea service equivalent to the relaxation sought. Medical Standards: The medical fitness of a candidate shall be assessed basing upon MS (Medical Examination) Rules laid by DG Shipping and as revised from time to time. Candidate’s general healthy physique is taken into consideration. Candidates must meet international standards for seafarers with special emphasis on vision, speech and hearing. Written Test: Then the candidate has to undergo for written test followed by an interview at BIMS hyderabad. After fulfilling above requirements the candidate will have 6 months pre-sea training. Then there would be 12 to 18 months on board training. During training he/she will get stuyfund from 15 to 25 thousand per month. After completion of this he/she will get salary around 1 lac min and 2.25 lacs max per month which varies from ship to ship. On an average in 7 to 8 years he/she will become captain...during which they can get more than 5 lacs per month. Every year you will have hikes...... No taxes for your salary.
