HIS LATE WIFE ESTHER KALONDU MUTUKU, WAS A STEP SISTER TO OUR BIOLOGICAL GRANDMOTHER ,THE LATE PRISCILA MUENI MUTISYA WHO DIED ON 26TH APRIL, 2006. THESE ARE SOME OF THE FEW FOUNDER MEMBERS OF ACK ST JOHNS CHURCH KARABA -OUR HOME CHURCH WHO WE FOUND WHEN WE WERE BORN. Some Historical Background information When I was growing up at St Johns Church Karaba, The Late Timothy Mutuku Musembi and his wife Late Esther Kalondu Mutuku ,Late Priscila Mueni Mutisya ,Late Beth Koki Mutungi,Late Rhoda Ngina Kaleli,Late John Nzivo, Late Paul Ndia Maingi, and Late Mwalimu Muthama Kisilu (late husband to Lay Canon Loiser Muthama) among others were the key Leaders and Founder Members of ACK Karaba Chuch . They brought Christianity to Mwea through CMS from Fort Hall Diocese of Muranga ,Kiandangae and Mutira in Kirinyaga. The Diocese later became Diocese of Mt Kenya under Late Bishop Obadiah Kariuki. Following this growth under their leadership, ACK St. Johns Foundation Stone was Laid by Bishop Obadiah Kariuki in 1968. The Old St Johns Church which is now the Academy School was Consecrated on 18th January 1981 by then the Bishop of the Diocese of Mt Kenya East - Late Most Rev. Dr. David M. Gitari. There Missionary zeal lead us to the greater KARABA ARCHDEACONRY under a Permanent Church Building of the New ST JOHNS Karaba Opened and Consecrated in the year 2004 by the Most Rev.Paul Nzimbi(Former Archbishop of Kenya) jointly with the First Bishop of ACK Diocese of Mbeere- The Rt.Rev.Gideon G.Ireri (Retired in 2008). WE ARE PROUD TO BE PART OF THIS BEAUTIFUL HISTORY OF KARABA ARCHDEACONRY. PRAISE BE TO THE NAME OF GOD! (Job.1:21 Naked I came from my mothers womb, and naked I will depart.) May the Good and Merciful Lord rest their souls in Eternal Life!
