MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE TO THE FAMILY OF COMRADE RECCA MONTE From Julie de Lima and Joma Sison International Network for Philippine Studies Utrecht, The Netherlands We express our most heartfelt condolences to the family of Comrade Recca Monte. Like the people and her revolutionary comrades, we share with you a deep sense of loss. We praise and honor Ka Recca Monte for dedicating her revolutionary sense of duty, education, intelligence, skills and courage to the service of the people, especially the most exploited and oppressed in remote areas of our country. We are outraged by the fact that even as she was captured alive, she was subjected to torture and mutilation. We denounce those who brutally murdered her as well as her comrades who were captured alive but were tortured to death and mutilated. We condemn the gross violation of International Humanitarian Law and the GRP-NDFP Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law. And we demand justice for Ka Recca and her companions. We convey our highest respect to all of them. Their service to the people and their martyrdom will inspire the people to fight ever more resolutely and militantly for their national and democratic rights against those who wish to preserve a ruling system dominated by foreign monopoly capitalism, feudal lords and corrupt bureaucrats. Long live the memory of the Lacub martyrs! Uphold their principles and fight for their just cause! Long live the Filipino people and the Philippine revolution!
