MESSAGE TO THE IMESILIANS This message is dedicated to ‘Biodun Olatunde. I thank you all for heeding my small boy advice that we should vote for Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Imesi-Ile people, you are great! Though APC had mere 811 compared with PDP’s huge 672, yet we thank God and thank you very much. All was to the glory of God. We have no money and possess no treasure to fight the battle but God was and still is on our side. Apart from money, we had something serious and strangely fashioned against us and that is the fact that the PDP campaigned with “Aregbesola did nothing for Imesi-Ile.” This weapon was potent enough to defeat us but God and fate did it. To the ordinary eyes, the margin is thin but to those who worked hard for APC, they knew it is a very wide margin. ADVICE TO IMESI-ILE APC MEMBERS 1. Let there be unity among you all. The wide and wild gap between the two factions are getting wider and more wickedly wilder. It nearly cost us the victory. Please and please, I beg you in the name of God Almighty, try to bridge this naïve and wickedly man-made gap. Kosi ohun rere kan ti o le sele ninu ede aiyede. It is a pure fact. Worse enough, getting the dividend of democracy for Imesi through these in-fighting won’t help us at all. Unless people want to deceive themselves, the in-fighting cost the party the position of a commissionership or at the least, Special Adviser. Try to unite and I pray that God will unite you. Amen. 2. The second advice is that all the APC members should be magnanimous in victory. PLEASE BE HUMBLE. We lose nothing by being humble. I beg you, kindly be friendly and loving to the PDP members in Imesi-Ile. All Imesi people, either PDP or APC, are very good people. Egbon Ojo Williams is an excellent person, a brilliant lawyer. He loves Imesi greatly. I remember, about seven years ago, when he was the Chairman of Obokun Local Government, I was to get a document for my younger brother and without knowing me from Adam, he bent to turn back to his office to sign it the moment he knew I was Imesi indigene. His younger brother, last born of the family, Gabriel Ojo, can die for Imesi issue. I met him 3 years ago. I went to a restaurant at Fagbewesa in Osogbo and he recognized me. I never knew him before but he came to me and asked if I am from Oke Oladoyinbo family and I said yes. Promptly, he started working in favour of what I came for and he did all his best. Kehinde Fajuyigbe was my classmate at Eka, the then Imesi-Ile Commercial Secondary School, in 1976. He was probably the best student only competing with Alaba Falomo. While Alaba was the best in Mathematics and Typewriting, Kehinde was the best in English and I was in the very rear except beating Pade and few others. Again, Kehinde tete laju ju gbogbo wa lo. He understands this if he reads it. That story is another day. Again, his elder brother, Egbon Biodun Kolawole, is of excellent spirit. He loves Imesi greatly. Even, this Kehinde Jayeoba who I never knew at all is a good person. I think I saw him yesterday at Imesi near the Olatunji compound where all PDP people gathered. Since I didn’t know him, they were coming to welcome me and when he noticed it was me he went back and his partner or him was saying something inaudibly that “awon o care fun anybody, iba lowo or not.” Let me use this opportunity to respond to them – I am for Imesi generally and APC specifically. Imesi first before APC. So, anybody who wants Imesi progress is for me and I am for him. It was Taye Tifase who told me that was Kehimde Jayeoba. It was even this Kehinde that carried me on his Okada last year when we came for Imesi-ile Social Club meeting hosted by Mr Ranti Tifase. Kehinde, I love you and all members of Imesi-Ile PDP. Please, don’t run from me. All of us are towards the same objective – the progress of imesi-Ile. APPRECIATION First to be appreciated are the APC Executives led by the Ward Leader, Mr Tunji Adesokun. I greet you all. I say e ku ise takuntakun. May you all be rewarded for good. I must single out Mr Lekan Omole, the Special Assistant to the Governor. I heard of your good work from outside and it was pleasant hearing that from a very neutral person. Please, ma dekun ninu ise rere sise and may you really be blessed, amen. The next person is Abiodun Olatunde. I have known ‘Biodun since the late 1970s. He was a young boy then and we were all in the CAC Choir. I joined the choir in 1974 at 10 years old. I was the very first Church Organist and when I left the duo of late Ranti Falana and Yemisi Olaniyan took over as both Organist and Chorimaster. It was after these two fellows that ‘Biodun Olatunde came on board as the Church Organist. I think he also became the Choirmaster or so. The first time I ever heard ‘Biodun singing was last year August during the ‘after Wake-Keep Meriment’ of Olusola Fabiyi’s Mother/Father’s burial ceremony. On Sunday, when I was celebrating the Aregbesola Victory with the Imesi APC, and taking pictures at our TownHall, in front of the Palace, ‘Biodun put a CD in my pocket and I thought iru kini eleyi o jare. I even thought it was his normal CD release until I saw a copy with Taye Tifase. I quickly inserted the CD in my car and oh, how I wish every son and daughter of Ijesa listen to this creative and excellent innovative songs rendered in praise of Aregbe. Two weeks ago, I bought one each that was done by Ebenezer Obey, Saidi Osupa and KWAN I, but my people, none is as good as that of ‘Biodun Olatunde. This is why I dedicate this message to him and his band. ‘Biodun, may you live long to see your fourth generation in peace, blessing and mercy of the Lord. I thank the duo of Olusola Fabiyi and Engr Lasun Olamijulo together because they worked silently together. I doubt if egbon Lasun did sleep on the eve of the election. May God reward you richly in Jesus name. Egbon lasun, sise ku o, especially I believe God needs you to resolve the wide gap between the two factions of APC. I am too small for that role sir. This may involve Baba Ranti Opelusi but we equally need you to initiate this move. I can never forget Demola Ekundayo. He was preyed on for BIG bribe but he rejected it. This is a great guy. Very few person would do that nowadays. Ni ilopo aimoye ona, Olorun to ni gbogbo agbara and gbogbo ibukun a san fun e ni aimoye ona, oye owo ti o ko lati gba lowo PDP/Omisore. Blessed be your household in Jesus name. Lastly, I thank Taye Tifase. For the past two weeks, he has been at home mobilizing people. He is excellently gifted in this. Even without being financially buoyant, Taye would surprise you at his enhancing works for any success. He did this at my 50th birthday this year and I will always respect this wonderful guy. Taye, thanks. On the whole, I thank all Imesilians and may we truly and abundantly be rewarded this time around. Thank you all. Imesi/Agbaogo a gbe a o. Amin.
