METRO PCS PHONE SERVICES - What a frustration and time consuming afternoon. Since I got back from travel abroad, my phone network connection had been on and off. I have had some problems in CA but not much. Then it got to a point that I am unable to make phone calls when I needed it. Nor receiving phone calls too. So I called Metro. They told me that they cant refresh from there, but to take the battery and sim card off. And after few minutes, put it all back and try again. if that doesnt work then take it to a phone shop to check it. I did that and still no network connection. So, I drove 15 mins to the Metro ph shop. They also cant help. They called the head office and they were told to change the sim card. They did that and still nothing happen. They also said that they can return the phone to the factory setting and I may loose some contacts. I said, hell no as it will take weeks to get all phone numbers back again. The sales lady said that I have two options. 1. To drive 20 miles to the Corporate office and see if they can fix it, as if it is the phone THEY MAY replace it. and 2. Since I already paid $5 insurance, I can request for a new phone. And she reminded me that the new phone on insurance has gone up from $129.00 to $200.00 I said WHAT!! I am now so angry as first METRO didnt tell me the new raise and also I am not going to pay $200.00 for a new phone as it is not my problem. The Metro PCS phone is the problem. They only say sorry. Because, I am driving 16 hrs up north tonight to Virginia and DC for a weeks business, I need that phone to work. So I drove over. Got to the office almost 30 mins later. Explained my problem. The sales lady said that it maybe because Metro PCS is now merge with T-Mobile and they are upgrading 4G Network GSM all around. Then she said, it may be the sim. So, she changed the sim and it works, but only to make/receive phone call and WIFI access internet. I stressed to the lady that that is not what I am paying for every month. Then she said, that she will order a new phone and I have to come back next Saturday and pick it up. I double check with her that it is going to be free and she said yes. I hope so. This phone drama took off 3 hours of my time to get ready for the trip up north. How frustrating eh. But for all of you on Metro whom also paying insurance, please try not to break your phone as you have to pay $200.00 now to get a new phone. The good news is that METRO is riding on T-Mobile network, it will probably have more coverage and better services. HOI. WHAT A DAY. Wallaby lost is enough, but this phone drama is unforgiving. I will look at Verison phone plan next week. Enough torturing. I have to vent my frustration on pulling the garden weeds before packing.
