METRO Robotics will be competing in its first competition Saturday, November 8th (yes, this is this weekend) at Linn Mar High School. Our leagues matches will begin at noon and conclude by 2 PM. The state of Iowa has moved to a league format and this event is a new style of event called a league meet. The larger, more involved, league championship (similar to our events in the past) won’t be till later in the year. A league meet is simply an organized clump of matches. Each of our teams will play 5 matches during the 2 hour time frame. The event is open to the public and loud, screaming METRO fans are encourage to attend. In addition we are still looking for some additional volunteers for this event and future league events. METRO’s team 4175 is currently the acting league administrator for our 12 team league. If you are available on Saturday or have an interest in volunteering at events in the future please let me know ASAP so we can get you registered. Volunteer roles for this weekend that are needed include referee, hardware inspector, and numerous other possibilities. All of these roles will have already trained leaders to help you learn on the job and video training is also available.
