MEX FOOD REVIEW: Arteagas in #Yucaipa. This is a kind of a new place, been open for just over 1 year. Family owned and run, Arteagas is up in old town Yucaipa where the old pizza place was on north side of the Blvd. After just a couple bites I was banging my head on the table for not trying it sooner. Lunch special was $7.99 for a wet chicken burrito, rice and beans. The inside has a few tables to sit at and it reminded me of a deli where there is a steady stream of To Go orders. For starters the chips where the thick kind and fresh. I like chunky salsa and this place has the chunks. The burrito was out in no time to the front patio where I was enjoying the warm afternoon sun. The rice and beans were tasty and cooked just right. The burrito and excellent green sauce hit the spot. Service was excellent and very friendly. There was also a shady spot on the east side of the bldg with tables for the warm days. This place was recommended to me for tamales and I forget to get some to take home. Dang, that means I have to go back ;). Parking is ample and easy to get into with spots in front and a small lot in back. 4.5 out of 5 stars on Yelp. yelp/biz/arteagas-mexican-food-yucaipa. They have a A rating from their health dept inspection last Jan 2014. Their previous inspections were an A rating also. sbcounty.gov/dehs/reports/DA1195271.pdfalso.sbcounty.gov/dehs/reports/DA1195271.pdf
