MI AMOR I only wanted her to see me, deeply, I think, but what she was looking for, was herself. When she went in, she was more like a butcher, tearing away flesh, with a calm slicing, a serene whistling. When she came in, she sat there, the chair she brought with her, stabbed my abdomen. She was looking for herself and it was me who she found. She found me, bony, crooked knees, standing before the ditch of my youth, before the bold tree with a muscular root protruding from under its trunk, she saw me, crunched on the floor, holding my elderly chin, she saw me curled under the breast of my mother and she was appalled. I could hear her calling herself. She tried to ignore me, but my face was a question mark, I was plastered all over my flesh, my DNA was singing my song. She closed her ears, calling out her name... it was so familiar to me, that even as it echoed inside of me, I could make out each syllable...I knew her name. I only wanted her to see me, deeply, I think...but she was looking for herself.
