MIDWEEK COMMUNION SERVICE UNDERSTANDING THE SECRET OF FINANCIAL BLESSING (PART 4) FOCUS: THE EXAMPLE OF SOLOMON BY PASTOR PAUL THOMPSON INTRODUCTION Job 29:4-9 As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; When the Almighty was yet with me,when my children were about me; When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street! The young men saw me, and hid themselves:and the aged arose, and stood up. The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth. Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. Secrets are best revealed through examples (showing how something is being done to get result) Amongst those things revealed are the things that Solomon did that made him to prosper. Therefore, if we must enjoy wealth in the order of Solomon, we must follow the example of Solomon. WHAT SOLOMON DID TO ENJOY FINANCIAL BLESSINGS 1. Solomon loved The Lord. 1 Kings 3:3 And Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places. 2. He proved his love by placing a thousand burnt offering upon the altar. To prove means to demonstrate, act or display something. You can give without loving but you cant love without giving. Love gives. 1 Kings 3:4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar. 3. That singular sacrifice, made him the wealthiest man in bible history. 1 Kings 3:13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days. 4. Solomon lavished his wealth (pure gold) in the building of the Tabernacle - 1Kg 6:21-38 1 Kings 6:21-23 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold. And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that was by the oracle he overlaid with gold. And within the oracle he made two cherubims of olive tree, each ten cubits high. 5. Solomon fed multitude daily in his house – 1Kg 4:22-28 1 Kings 4:22-28 And Solomons provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and threescore measures of meal, Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, beside harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowl. For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side the river: and he had peace on all sides round about him. And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon. And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen. And those officers provided victual for king Solomon, and for all that came unto king Solomons table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing. Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries brought they unto the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge. JESUS IS LORD FOREVER!!!
