MIHO HOSAKA, the culinary arts teacher at North Eugene High School, is more than just a teacher; she is a true human being to our students, says the colleague who nominated her for the 2014 ACE Awards. Aside from her teaching, she also dedicates amounts of time to special catering events ... that benefit our students in a significant way as they are educated and exposed to the community to serve. Experiences like these teach them to have hope, skills, discipline and adventures. Even more, they gain responsibility and a sense of self-worthiness. One particular student mentioned: Miho has taught me to be true to myself, to follow my passions and to move on from high school to become a life-long learner. Another student Ive heard, commented that if it wasnt for classes like Mihos, he would not be here nor would be interested in finishing his education.
