MIKE SONKO spotted doing this to finish RAILA completely Tuesday July 29, 2014 - Flamboyant Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has vowed never to give former Prime Minister Raila Odinga a chance to succeed in whatever he does in Kenya. After unsuccessfully failing to stop Raila Odinga’s Saba Saba, Sonko is not done because yesterday, the Nairobi Senator was spotted bribing residents of Mathare with sh500 ahead of Raila Odinga’s visit today to drum up support for Bishop Margaret Wanjiru’s son, Stephen Kariuki, who is CORD’s candidate in the Mathare Parliamentary by-election. The TNA Senator assembled residents of Mathare at Jowanga Hotel, next to Huruma, last night and gave each sh500 in order to boycott Raila Odinga’s rally and to embarrass him. CORD legislators led by Kibra MP, Ken Okoth have already lodged complaints with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) over Sonko’s unbecoming behaviour and want the electoral body to take disciplinary action against him because his action contravenes electoral laws. According to Okoth, Sonko’s move is part of the Jubilee Government’s wider scheme to frustrate the opposition and that the President and his Deputy are very much aware of the scheme and should too be dealt with.
