MIKES RECIPE: Award Winning Fish Stew (for people that dont Like the bones skin, grease, etc.)) You need a smoked ham hock, country ham bits or other smoked meat. Two cans of Kipper Snacks (smoked herring) or smoked mullet for flavor. Wrap those two in a clean white sock or white muslin. BOIL THE CRAP OUT OF IT until the meat falls off the bone. (You an use a pressure cooker if you want for speed. We did.) Squeeze all the juice out of it and throw the sock away. You now have a smoky fish broth. Season to taste with salt, black and red pepper. Layer the potatoes and onions in the pot, cover with the broth and SLOWLY simmer until potatoes are just about fork done. DO NOT STIR! Drop in some frozen flounder fillets (or any fillets) , a can of tomato sauce and bring back to a SLOW boil. Remove from the heat and drop in eggs. Have a beer while everything cools down and the eggs set. Serve with white loaf bread. :->
