MILK MAN PAYS ME TO DELIVER PAMPHLETS. I was having fresh milk delivered every day, the Pomfrets always drank most of it costing me lot of money. Milk vendor came one evening after the pension for his money and I paid him for the fortnight and cancelled the deliveries. I’ll be moving from here I said so please no more deliveries of milk. He saw my bicycle and asked me, was it you who was delivering the local rag to houses before? You mean the Advertiser? Yes it was me. Could you deliver pamphlets for me if you’re not doing the paper run please? Company’s gone bankrupt I said, they sacked all the paper boys and are gone into liquidation so no more papers. He brought me a bundle of pamphlets and told me where to deliver them but missunderstanding of his explanation I delivered them to his competitor’s area. No problem he said, he brought me more and told me to finish them, there will be no more after that and he paid me in full. I got up one morning after I heard noise on the front landing. I opened and found an old floor polisher there from George the Cleaner. It was burnt out and nothing could be done to fix it. A note with it indicated George. When he came to visit Carol in the evening I told him to come and get it but it’s no good. He got it from me and told me he would dismantle it and sell it for junk. I’m going to move house next pension I said because I can’t get anyone to share with me. I went home and discussed the matter with the landlord and he said, it’s alright, if you want to move you can but please take everything you got, yours and Bill’s including the wastepaper bins when you go. Don’t leave any rubbish there and he accepted the receipts for the stove and the fuse that I had wired in as full payment of an extra fortnight rent. I agreed on that but Tanya never came for her cassette radio. My Philips got wet in the rain one night. I put it in front of the electric heater to dry but the case got melted a bit out of shape and I sold it to a pawnshop.
