MIMIKA Mak Murtić Ensemble had an interesting time playing at the E5 Bakehouse yesterday, next to roasting food and the smoke (I can still smell it after 2 showers! :O ). We were also apparently featured on the Australian radio show Primetime Jazz . https://radio.adelaide.edu.au/primetime-jazz-playlist-31st-january-2014/ Today, 1st February, as Metro readers will know, marks the 50th anniversary of Beatles American breakthrough, so this is a day for celebration. Next stop, Big Band HRT performs a 25 minute programme of my compositions for the European Broadcasting Union with outspoken vocalists Maja Rivić and Anabela Barić as guests to the band and Joe Kaplowitz on the tuba! Other authors include Miro Kadoić, Zoran Ščekić and Ivan Kapec. The broadcast is the 28th February (on all EU national radios ?)! And then in March, Mimika performs at the wonderful Forge in Camden, we will do a CD release by then hopefully, or if not, it will be a single! However, it will be a massive gig with new compositions, full narration, incredible musicians and slightly mental chanting. Looking forward!
