MIMIKO IN A FREE FOR ALL STREET FIGHT ! The people of Ilu-Agbo in Ese-Odo local government area of Ondo state had suffered many devastating floods in the past but that of July 18 was a special case that they will never forget in a hurry because it came with an incredible social aberration and absurdity in the temple of sacredness. It became so special when the executive governor of a state resorted to physical exchange of fisticuffs with a village boy to ventilate displeasure. It was at the distribution of the relief materials provided by the state government for this flood devastated community of Ilu-Agbo fourth day July 21 ,after the flood had sacked the entire community and the water level had equally receded to accommodating level. The community people had celebrated Dr. Mimiko to high heavens for his quick intervention with various songs and prayers , but crisis began when the same relief materials already delivered to Ilu-Agbo community were surprisingly being ordered by Mimiko to be taken to another community. The community people who had thanked and celebrated the governor for the gifts approach Hon. Shola Ebiseni, the commissioner for Environment , who is equally from the riverine region of the state to find out why the materials already given to them were being reloaded into the waiting trucks. But he too who could not understand why that should happen approached the governor but with a disappointment on the face with what the governor told him ,Ebiseni told the community leaders to personally talk to Mimiko. The community quickly constituted a team comprises of elders and youths to talk to the governor and the community youth leader , Mr. Omojoye Bamiwo , was mandated to speak on behalf of the team requested from the governor why their relief materials were being taken away and Mimiko assured them that all was well but the materials could no longer be shared in the community. Governor told them the community people should meet the government team at Igbobini community which is some miles away from Ilu-Agbo to collect the relief materials but this did not go down well with this community representative and it led to a hot exchange of words and the governor dealt a big slap on Omojoye Bamiwo and in attempt to slap the governor in retaliation the security details rough handle the young man.
