MINDPEARL IS HIRING! Mindpearl Suva office is seeking an application developer with relational database experience to support its growing global business. This position will be based at Mindpearl in Suva, Fiji. The potential candidate must be living in or willing to relocate to Suva, Fiji JOB TITLE IT Application Developer JOB FUNCTION Design, implement and maintain software for a variety of internal business applications and external customer systems. Maintain efficient functioning of the contact centre applications and databases. Provide helpdesk services for all managed software. PERSON SPECIFICATION Available to work on a full-time - due to the location of Mindpearl offices globally, and the 24/7 nature of our business, some projects will require working outside of normal office hours This job will involve communication with offices in overseas locations Available to travel internationally as required Business analytical and applies logic and commercial reason to decision making Ability to understand customer and business requirements and translate these into development specifications and clear user documentation Problem solving, going above and beyond Able to challenge requirements, when greater value and efficiencies maybe gained by alternative solutions Possesses a high degree of confidentiality Proven ability to take ownership for projects Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential Demonstrated decision-making skills in a fast-moving, team-based environment Clear credit and criminal record SKILL REQUIREMENTS An A+, MSC or similar IT industry-related qualification Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a similar role At least 3 years programming /development experience with development tools, examples: C++, ASP, PHP, Visual Basic 6, .NET or any Contact Centre specific tool sets Development with PHP framework e.g. cakephp, joomla is an advantage - PHP experience would be a distinct advantage Finance/Sage experience is preferable Apache or IIS knowledge is an advantage Batch scripting knowledge is an advantage Development or documentation methodology is an advantage Experience with structured relational database, examples: Oracle, MYSQL or SQL Server together with basic reporting skills SQL query skills are required Knowledge of indexing, design and maintenance is an advantage Demonstrated skills in the development and maintenance of websites and small web applications Expert skills in the use of Microsoft Office products This position is based at the Mindpearl Suva, Fiji office.
