MINDSHIFT rotation180° Panorama Review (Part 1) I’ve been meaning to share about the new MINDSHIFT r180° bag I’ve got since 4 months ago but fate had its say when the video we shot of this bag in Seattle went missing. This bag system is something new on the market and it basically one that says no to wasting time and energy in putting down bags! Wheres MINDSHIFT from? MindShift Gear is by THINK TANK PHOTO, who is well known for really strong zips (btw). MindShift Gear specialises in producing outdoor-related and suited gear. Initially, this was just a must-have bag for street photography but I brought it to Iceland for landscape and it works pretty well! - GOOD SUPPORT: The breathable padded airflow harness and well-padded back strap triumphs over my usual Lowepro Flipside Sport. I can now carry heavy loads without torturing my back and shoulders. - ROTATING BELTPACK: I’m seen using it in the image and is the most celebrated feature of the bag. I could change lens way faster and react to events quicker since putting my bag down or having it at an awkward position is a thing of the past. This also means no more muddy/wet/dirty bag or straps! I was initially doubtful at the ease of the feature, but the magnetic clip at the side makes keeping and taking out so so easy. (Sometimes, I pretend I’m a secret agent taking out my secret gun. hehe.) Anyhow, no more painful velcro, or buttons, it’s easy to handle even with gloves on. The belt pack can also be separated and use on its own. When shooting landscapes, I will leave my bag at a safe corner, and take the belt-pack along with me as I scout and find a shooting spot. - STYLO: When I was in NYC doing some street photography, a lady came up to me saying my bag was “really neat”! It makes me happy! Han often tell me not to pack this, or that when travelling. To quote, he says “no one is gonna care how you dress! You are shooting!”. But me, being a woman, and still wanting to look good, I want to at least make sure I don’t look shabby, what’s more when I’m in a city like NYC? Sometimes I get to dress decent but my bag just screams “out-of-place”. This bag saves me from being a fashion victim. - COMPACT LOOKING: The most practical reason of all. Because it looks so small and casual, it doesnt look heavy. Our carry-on bags is always over the limit and I carry an average of 10kg up the plane. The previous bags we carried on had the airport staff wanting to weigh our bags but this got me through in a breeze. There’s so much to rave about this bag, one post isn’t enough. For Part 2 of this review , I’ll be sharing about it’s technical specifications such as capacity, zips, materials and other comparisons. It’s always best to try the bag out before deciding. If you are interested, T K FOTO TECHNIC is currently the only Singapore distributor of MINDSHIFT. Feel free to make a trip down to test the bag, who knows, we might bump into you there! If so, please say Hello, okay? :)
