MINISTER L.BOLD ELECTED VICE CHAIR OF UN ESCAP FORUM The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Mr. L.Bold attended the 70th session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) under the motto “Regional connectivity for shared prosperity” in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand this week. Minister L.Bold was elected a vice chair of the 70th Session of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific on its first day. Addressing the session, Minister L.Bold emphasized that at this time, when globalization and interdependence are widening, the future of regional cooperation will depend on how close the countries will cooperate and added that the active participation in the Asia-Pacific integration process is one of the major goals of Mongolia’s foreign policy. Furthermore, Minister L.Bold focused on Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security initiated by the Mongolian President, Mr. Tsakhia Elbegdorj with a view to wide bilateral and multilateral cooperation and activate talks and dialogues with Northeast Asian countries, a project “5 lines” charted to link Asia and Europe with oil, natural gas pipelines, electric, road and railroad through the territory of Mongolia, Mongolian government policy on promoting foreign investment and intensifying economic development.
