MIRACLE OF MIRACLES! BELIEVE IT OR NOT . . . I have made a monumental decision that I probably will not have enough fortitude and determination to stick to more than a few days, but we shall see! The major decision comes from my utter dismay over the political and religious opinions raging in this medium displaying the most bazaar and utterly nonsensical contradictions of the most improbable, dichotomous ideas I have ever heard or seen in my entire life! Every day I have to steel myself against fanaticism, bigotry, racism, ignorance, and arcane ideas that often not only confound reason and logic, but actually get my dander up and irritate me to an unbelievable degree that anyone can be so completely clueless and devoid of facts so that they hold such monstrously backward notions purporting to be sane ideas! In my dotage, unfortunately, I have lost much self-control and, when irritated enough, I lurch forward with a comment that is neither civil, nor appropriate for one who prides himself in his reasonable approach to everything! In other words, I make a fool out of myself by posting things that I actually neither really believe nor would ever say in calmer, saner moments when I’m not all wrought up with emotion and vitriol toward the person posting their visceral garbage! Yes, I’ve become so spontaneous I can’t bridle my tongue enough even when writing posts to maintain discretion and decorum commensurate with the professionalism I so cherish and want to maintain! Thus, beginning tonight, the most controversial thing I’m going to read and post a response to in this FaceBook forum will be things about Bama football and the likes of that! If I transgress and lapse back into posting diatribes and vitriolic rebuttals on politics and religion, just tweak my attention and remind me of my vow not to engage in such posts! I honestly don’t think I can bear to read one more hypocritical, fanatical, religious mantra or another nineteenth century political rant that was backward and outdated for the civilized world in the nineteenth century! My outrage against such tripe cannot any longer be contained! So no more! I will just not read another single post about immigration policy, health care for the poor, Pharisian hypocrisies about religion, or any other such mindless drivel and, thus, I won’t be compelled to post a reply or rebuttal in which I’ll betray my better nature and show my derriere to the world! I’m not the smartest man on earth, or the best educated man in this world, but I’ll be danged if I’m not head and shoulders above some of the antiquated malarkey I read here on FaceBook! Read a book sometime! And try thinking a thought independent of Fox news and the televangelist brainwashing of the fundamentalist clergy online! So, tonight, while the partisan hags viewing with one another trying to capture the hearts of the uninformed and the ill-informed rant and rave about President Obama and Immigration—they’ll never admit that Obama’s policy is actually right of what President George Bush and President Ronald Reagan—Republicans both!—advocated when they were in the Presidential office because they want to use it as political fodder, I’m going to blithely ignore them, refuse to be baited into a political repartee and, instead, I’m going to post, while I still can before the Iron bowl, this declaration that Alabama is #1, at least in the Play-Off Poll, which is, under this new system, actually the only poll that matters! Hopefully we can maintain that position at least until the Iron Bowl, and anyone and everyone knows that The Iron Bowl is a phenomenon unto itself and nobody can predict what could happen in it! Mother and Regenia are here spending the night with us and Regenia brought the latest addition to our family, T.J. (Thomas Jefferson canine!), the cutest pooch I may have ever seen! And, at the risk of offending Gigi and hurting her feelings, maybe also the sweetest! Of course, Gigi has never aspired to that title anyway and did her very best tonight to show that she definitely does not deserve it in her actions toward T.J.! I think Gigi was just jealous and a little fearful that T. J. might steal some of her thunder and captivate Ott’s and my hearts! Of course, she has nothing to fear in that regard, but Mr. T. J. is definitely a charmer and one could grow to love that little rascal quickly! Well, enough prattle for one night! Hold me to my promise! And, if need be, give me a nudge now and then to keep me aware of it! Take care and have a wonderful weekend! Oh, by the way, Ott got his Thesis Proposal signed and submitted today! That is a huge weight off all of our shoulders! Oh, but the Thesis is a looming specter just over the horizon . . . Yea, Alabama! Crimson Tide! Bama #1! Go Bama, Go! Goodnight!
