MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT EDUCATION There have been many misconceptions surrounding the way young people should approach life. The order of the day has been go to school, get good grades, graduate with a good class, seek a good job and so on. And we expect that by urging young ones to go through this chain of anticipation, their life should be better. But it’s amazing that this trend has been followed for years and it seemingly doesn’t meet any expectation. Why? Because life doesn’t give us what we expect, it gives us what we deserve. Consider the number of students who undertake project work each year, about 45,000 students. What do we see? These projects are dumbed in our libraries only to serve as reference points for fellow continuing students to copy. No wonder that many young people in Africa have not come to understand that feasible ideas compel initiatives and attract partnerships. This unscrupulous educational direction has inhibited many young ones from living outside their world of unproductive thinking. Such fallacy of thought has killed the essence of creativity in graduating students since their intentions for undertaking project work is only for grades with its adverse effect of massive youth unemployment. But we will intervene and challenge the status-quo, we will redefine the systems and identify new trends. Above all, we will set the pace to be followed. HYPE!........Inspiring Confidence.
