MISSING: Bonnie Santiago, 56 - Staunton, VIRGINIA Authorities in Albemarle County continue to investigate the disappearance of a Staunton woman last seen a week ago near the property of Carter Mountain Orchard. The Albemarle County Police Department said Bonnie Santiago, 56, of Brands Flat was reported missing by her family on Monday. She was last seen July 12 at 1 a.m. on Carter Mountain, according to Carter Johnson, a spokeswoman for the Albemarle County Police Department. Johnson said members of the Albemarle County Sheriffs Office searched the mountain twice this past week, using canine search dogs and officers on horseback to cover the rugged terrain. Santiago was not found. Theyre done searching, now its our investigation, Johnson said. Without going into details, Johnson said Santiago spent some time on Carter Mountain. Theres a home there, she said. Johnson labeled the disappearance a high-priority case. Asked if foul play was involved in the Staunton womans disappearance, Johnson said, At this point, its a missing person case. The missing woman is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs about 175 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, authorities said. Albemarle County police are asking anyone with information pertaining to Santiagos whereabouts to call CrimeStoppers at (434) 977-4000.
