MISSION TRIP # 003231 went to Honduras in February, 2013. World Gospel Outreach saw 2,250 patients, distributed 1,450 prescriptions and had 130 decisions for Christ. Team leader Mary Wedel writes; Words alone cannot express how grateful Mary & I are for your support of us during our mission’s trip to serve the poor of Honduras. We are truly thankful and humbled of what God did in, though and among us while we were there. We can only know in part how God changed the lives of those we ministered to. Numbers are just a guide to show us how God used us during our time there. We saw a total of 2250 Hondurans of which 400 where children. Over 1400 received medical assistance, 190 received optical assistance, and 245 received dental assistance. With 130 making first time professions of faith and 93 recommitting their lives to Christ, while we prayed for and with 520 of our Honduran brothers and sisters in Christ. Some of their stories shocked and baffled us as we were helpless to completely meet their needs and can only trust them to God knowing that the Gospel we shared with them is enough. We had asked to be “sent” in the spirit of Rom 10:14-15 both in prayer and financial support. To specifically pray that we could effectively treat the physical ailments of those we would see at the clinic sites, that the Hondurans would be open to the spiritual message of hope we bring, and as leaders to be able to meet the spiritual needs of the team members. God answered our prayers. May God richly bless you for your faithfulness to remember us in prayer; we certainly felt and saw their results. Our financial need was met as well.
