MISSISSIPPI - I had a thought while driving the length of our state and praying over the past week..... driving down passed a Toyota plant.... while in Gulf Shores (AL) we shopped a fabulous grocery store that proudly displayed Gulf Shores owned and operated, top notch offering and service, purchased right off the boat shrimp, and local produce.... driving back up passed Polks meats (love their sausage) and passed another motor plant, Nissan, and also while passing through Jackson thought of my friend Amy Hope Rylander and her beautiful art Amy Rylander Art..... I thought to my self of all the family owned and operated business right here in Mississippi... like Vince Calvi produce that is at DeSoto Farmers-Market every Saturday morning... our friends at Durhams Bee Farm, Southaven Supply (local hardware), Joel Gallagher at Gallagher Insurance Group,...the list goes on and on.... if we want to spur economic development and growth in our state the first and best way, we as individuals can do so, is to purchase from Mississippi businesses, especially products made and manufactured in our state! I didn’t visit Walmart once while on vacation and didn’t miss it a bit. Walmart is even a perfect example of a local Arkansas business that had the support and the know how to capitalize on their market!! What if we started a page like Buy Mississippi Made and highlighted in state commerce??? We can be the answer to our own prayers, support local in state, spend your dollars in state… see growth…in state! #BuyMSMade!!! Just a thought:) Good night!
