MISTERBLUEJEANS’ VIDEO COLLECTION PART 5 Richie Havens * Van Morrison * Alexis Korner RICHIE HAVENS His Woodstock appearance in 1969 catapulted him into stardom and was a major turning point in his career. As the festivals first performer, he held the crowd for nearly three hours. In part, Havens was told to continue playing, because many artists scheduled to perform after him were delayed in reaching the festival location with highways at a virtual standstill. VAN MORRISON Van Morrison, OBE (Order of the British Empire) is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and musician. His live performances at their best are described as mystical and transcendental, while some of his recordings, such as the studio albums Astral Weeks and Moondanceand the live album Its Too Late to Stop Now, are critically acclaimed and appear at the top of many greatest album lists. ALEXIS KORNER Alexis Korner a British blues musician and radio broadcaster, who has sometimes been referred to as a founding father of British blues.
