MLA Reasi hails Union MoS for adopting flood hit villages Ujjwal jammu 18/09/14 BJP MLA from Reasi Baldev Raj Sharma has hailed the Union Minister of the State (Independent Charge) in PMO Dr. Jitendra Singh for adopting two totally damaged villages of Reasi assembly constituency namely Saddal and Seri for reconstruction and rebuilding under PM’s package announced on 15 August 2014 by Prime Minister of India. Addressing media persons at party headquarters at Jammu, Sharma said that a team of BJP Katra unit under his leadership visited the heavy rains hit areas of Block Moungri along with Tehsildar and BDO Moungri, to assess the damages and distributed the ration, blankets and other relief material among the affected families of village Saddal and Panjar. Giving details of the situation in Saddal, he said that only 13 dead bodies have been evacuated from debris out of the reported 40 persons feared dead. He expressed great concern over the slow pace of rescue and evacuation operations demanding the deployment of heavy machinery and full team of NDRF for evacuation to save the area from epidemic as the foul smell has already started polluting the atmosphere due to burying of hundreds of animals under the debris as reported by the inhabitants of the area. MLA Reasi further demanded compensation for other 27 family members, whose bodies have not been evacuated so for due to slow pace of evacuation process at the rate of 3.5 lakh per deceased family as only 13 family members have been given compensation till date. MLA further demanded whose dead bodies have been not evacuated till date they should be declared dead instead of declaring them as missing on humanitarian grounds so that their families rehabilitate well in time. MLA further demanded that education system has been totally paralyzed due to collapse of school building of village Saddal. In this connection temporary classes/school be started in tented accommodation in the larger interest of the students and their future. MLA also demanded that other affected 121 families whose 47 houses got totally damaged under debris, 20 houses are in danger zone and 54 partially damaged, be considered for early sanction of compensation and properly rehabilitation as the total affected population is 566 out of which 303 are Males and 263 are females. MLA also demanded construction of fabricated houses till the reconstruction and rebuilding of 2 adopted villages by Dr. Jitandra Singh, besides appealing to the concerned authorities to take up the initiative for planning of reconstruction and rebuilding of adopted villages so that works on adopted villages are completed in a specified period. MLA Reasi also telephonically conveyed all the observations made on spot during their visit of village Saddal on 16.09.2014 to Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, and demanded deployment of heavy machinery and full team of NDRF to gear up the evacuation process of dead bodies as the foul smell has been started in the area as there is apprehension of spread of epidemics. Meanwhile Div. Com. assured the MLA that all the necessary steps will be taken at priority to provide more rescue and relief to the affected families who have suffered due to heavy rains and floods. BJP State Vice-President & Reasi District Prabhari Col. Uttam Singh, Distt. General Secretary & Incharge Reasi Constituency Ramesh Sharma, Mandal President Ajay Baru and City President Ajay Verma were also present in the press conference.
