MOB: The next 60 days are crunch time for the I-10 bridge - TopicsExpress

MOB: The next 60 days are crunch time for the I-10 bridge bike-ped path project. We all like to complain about Mobile’s lack of infrastructure but it is time to stop complaining and do something about it. And remember that if the I-10 bridge path doesn’t happen it is possible the funding will be available for other projects for mitigation. This is the biggest chance (up to $30 million) for Mobile to get bike-ped infrastructure in probably the next 100 years so let’s not blow it. We need EVERYONE to be involved – this means you (and all of your friends). 1) Vote on the al poll- politicians do reference these polls even if unscientific: al/news/mobile/index.ssf/2014/07/do_you_agree_with_mobiles_supp.html 2) SIGN THE PETITION – we are nearing 3000 – our goal is 10,000. We need everyone in MOB to sign it AND SHARE IT via email & social media: https://change.org/petitions/alabama-department-of-transportation-include-bicycle-pedestrian-facilities-on-the-i-10-mobile-river-bridge 3) The City Council delayed a vote on a resolution supporting it – and in the meantime some naysayers based on misinformation have started complaining. We need YOU to attend the city council meeting next Tuesday at 10am and speak in favor. 4) The naysayers are also hitting talk radio. I will likely be on 106.5 with Sean Sullivan 12-2pm today. Keep an ear out and call in support. Please email me for any questions or concerns – tedflotte@hotmail. Thanks
