MODERN-DAY PARENTS seem to fall into two basic groups. One group is obsessed with being their childs friend or homey. They would rather be liked than respected. The other group is obsessed with fulfilling their childs every whim. They too would rather be liked than respected. Weve all seen both of these groups get embarrassed in public as the child flaunts this leverage to any, and all, onlookers. Its entertaining to me that both of these groups constantly point out the other for being bad parents! The bottom line is that both approaches lack balance. For whatever reason, parents seem uncomfortable, or down right scared, to wear the pants in their own homes! Keeping a child in their place isnt cruel or abusive; I call it responsible parenting. Just my opinion. #stayinyourlane
