MODIBBO ADAMA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY, YOLA The day of ‘Arafaah is a day of forgiveness for sins, freedom from the Fire, and pride in the people who are there. The Prophet (pbuh) said: “There is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of ‘Arafaah. He comes close and expresses His pride to the angels, saying, ‘What do these people want?’” [Muslim] The Prophet (pbuh) also said: “Allah expresses His pride to His angels at the time of ‘Ishaa’ on the Day of ‘Arafaah, about the people of ‘Arafaah. He says, ‘Look at My slaves who have come unkempt and dusty.’” [Ahmad] #Arafaah#Hajj#Forgiveness — with Mae Bakal, Haimad Bakal, Adzmen M Ampan andAllah tells us in the Quran that when we go for Hajj, we should not be engaged in arguments, corruption, bad communication, or bad actions. Why did Allah stress this? Because when you bring 4 to 5 million people together in one place somebody is bound to step on your toes, and somebody is bound to bounce you one way or knock over your things, and people may get hurt. We must be patient with all this jostling with others as it is a purification from your sins. Dr. Bilal #Hajj#Patience — with Ramadhan Mutuku, Noraisa Lawan The blessed days of Dhul Hijjah are here and we cannot afford to miss out on such immense rewards. To miss the blessings found in these days will lead to utter regret in the Hereafter! Brothers and Sisters, we need your urgent help for outfitting the Islamic learning centre in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The Ebola virus plague is taking its toll, we also need to prepare for the Islamic future for their devastated community Please donate to the IOU and spread the word of Allah, in shaa Allah — with Haruna Fareed Yusuf, Saddam Dahani, Eniola Olaoluwa Odun and 28 others The Prophet (pbuh) said:There are no days that are greater with Allaah, and in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days (of Dhul- Hijjah). So increase in making tasbeeh (saying Subhaanallaah), tamheed (saying Alhamdulillah), tahleel (saying Laa ilaha illAllaah) and takbeer (saying Alaahu Akbar), during them.” [Saheeh: Related by at-Tabaraanee] — with Elias Hassen, Imam Solikin II, Aziza Mohammed During #Hajj the annual congregation of over two million Muslims from all corners of the globe representing all nations and tribes reminds Muslims that physical and biological differences are of no real consequence. All humans belong to one race, the human race. There is only One God Who created one race of human beings and ordained for them ONE religion. Dr Bilal — with Mariam Abiola, Mohammed When a man turns to Allah in repentance, he is fulfilling Allahs wish, as well as a part of the reason for his creation. Repentance then becomes an act of righteousness and worship greatly pleasing to Allah. Dr Bilal #Repent — with Nawiethel Lopez Cadalay, HappyAlways SadLater, Usman Maikudi Nuraini and The one who is sincere in his faith is the one who attains faith in the way his Lord wants from him, which includes sincerity in faith, sincerity in intention, and sincerity in fear of Allah. Not every act of obedience is sincere unless it is done, both outwardly and inwardly, in a manner which Allah likes. — with Nisfu Hayat, Bonch Tan, Muhammad Man and 47 others We see in the Quran itself that Allah speaks about boyfriends and girlfriends because this is actually a phenomenon which is not unique to our times. It is something which occurred throughout the centuries and throughout the ages. Allah says in the Quran regarding this issue: [They should be] chaste, neither [of] those who commit unlawful intercourse randomly nor those who take [secret] lovers. May Allah increase our assets to enable us afford it someday. Muhammad Tariq Maqsood But I see a lot youngesters going for hajj now days. Growing awareness towards Islam I presume. And I like to add, age is not only the factor for not going for hajj.......there are responsibilities, small kids to look after, aged parents, money constraints and such things that discourages one to take to hajj at an early stage. Hiroko Yamada I am saving my money for it Sonia Aaliyah Hajj has become so expensive. Who was told they could put a price on pilgrimage? The state should pay all the people who work day and night to keep things running in mecca. And also, watch how you word things. It gas become a case of ripping people off rather than simply a religious duty...maybe more people could afford hajj then...shame on these travel agents & the authorities in Saudi exploiting peoples emotions & the religion for their material gain! Imi Khan Dear Dr Bilal, please advise all muslims to complete their missed prayers, fast and zakah before performing Hajj, by doing so one will be more satisfied when performing Hajj the feelings and emotions will improve and enthusiasm of becoming peaceful mus... Siff Udhums Aameen 3 Tz Hilmi Why most people save haji for old ages? well , for my prob is , i dont really have money to go because its far away and the trip kinda expensive(im not a rich man like r.downey jr) , so i have to study , and when im done study i have to work . while im Ayesha Mumtaz While I agree that Hajj should be done when one is younger, there should be more compassion and empathy for those who wish to perform Hajj but are unable to do so because they cant afford it. I know that the majority of people who go for Hajj save for Aida Taguicana No please its not the reason at all. Our parents were not able to perform hajj because the could hardly afford. When their children grow up and have good jobs and savings they send their parents for hajj. Thats what we do specially those who love their parents. Syed Abdul Razaq Thats true , but many muslims are poor and they work all their life untill they retire and they get retirement money and then they send their old parents for hajj . a true muslim will want to go to hajj early but problems wont let them make early hajj . please pray for poor and under privilege muslims . Khoula Tasawar Not completely true I want to perform Hajj but husband is heart patient, son has disability and learning problems, other son is messed up. Would do it right now if possible. So what I am trying to say is some people are bound by responsibility therefore cannot until a later stage. Lesser family responsibility at that age. List is endless. May Allah grant everyone the opportunity to perform Hajj. Amin Azlina Othman Its ok dear..its clearly stated when u are able to. Its not only about money but also other responsibilities that we are holding to. Islam is beautiful & Allah will not burden us for things we cant do. Ibrahim T. Coulibaly Unfortunately thats true, many muslims think old age is the best time to improve ones deen duties well, others prefer to wait untill they get married! Siff Udhums May Allah strengthen our imaan, give us understanding N increase our patience Famida Shah There is a belief in many cultures should I say that if one has becum a parent u cannot do hajj esp if u have daughters u cannot do hajj until u have got her married etc .....no this is not islam....u have to do hajj quick as long as u have the means to do so Siff Udhums May Allah give us the opportunity to understand holly Quran N follow Sunnah of our beloved prophet Muhammed (SAS). This morning in Hargeisa, Somaliland, I attended the successful launching of the Islamic Online Universitys intensive Halaal English course (IEC) pilot program in two universities (New Generation U & Edna Adan U.), a public school (26th June), a private school (Nuradin), and the 4 classrooms of our office for approximately 1,100 students. — with Abu Hurairah reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) delivered a Khutbah and said, O people! Hajj (pilgrimage to the House of Allah) has been made incumbent upon you, so perform Hajj. A man inquired: O Messenger of Allah, is it prescribed every year? He remained silent till the man repeated it thrice. Then he said, Had I replied in the affirmative, it would have surely become obligatory, and you would not have been able to fulfill it. Afterwards he said, Do not ask me so long as I do not impose anything upon you, because those who were before you were destroyed on account of their frequent questioning and 5 their disagreement with their Prophets. So when I order you to do something, do it as far as you can; and when I forbid you from doing anything, eschew it. [Muslim] Commentary: This Hadith brings out the following points: 1. Hajj is compulsory once in a lifetime for those who have the means for it. 2. Unnecessary questioning is disliked. 3. Those who believe in Allah and His Prophet are required to do what they are ordained and abstain from what they are forbidden Sonia Diini masha allah Awais Arif true The Prophet (peace be upon him)_was asked, “Which is the best deed?” He said, “To believe in #Allah and His #Messenger (pbuh).” He was then asked, “Which is the next (in goodness)?” He said, “To do #Jihad (to strive or to struggle) in Allahs Cause.” He was again asked, “Which is the next?” He said, “To perform #Hajj Al-Mabroor.” Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol. 2 The Book of Hajj, Hadith No. 1519 Allah tells us in the Quran that when we go for Hajj, we should not be engaged in arguments, corruption, bad communication, or bad actions. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafat. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” (Muslim) So who will fast tomorrow? I typically dont mention personal matters on Facebook but I believe this will benefit others, and ask Allah for humility and sincerity as I say this, fully aware of my sinful nature. I was blessed to pray in the mihrab of the Prophet salla Allah alayhi sallam. On the left: the grave of The Leader of the Martyrs Hamza Ibn Abd al-Muttalib, the uncle of the Prophet salla Allah alayhi wa sallam. He was martyred by Wahshi the javelin thrower in the Battle of Uhud, and Hind the wife of Abu Sufyan (who at the time was not a Muslim) slit open his stomach and chewed on his liver, and made a necklace of his fingers, to hurt the feelings of the Prophet (SAW). On the right, the small ravine (you can see it as a slit in the mountain above the building) where the Prophet salla Allah alayhi wa sallam sought refuge in the counterattack of Khalid b Walid when the chaos ensued at the Battle of Uhud 6
