This morning in Hargeisa, Somaliland, I attended the successful launching of the Islamic Online Universitys intensive Halaal English course (IEC) pilot program in two universities (New Generation U & Edna Adan U.), a public school (26th June), a private school (Nuradin), and the 4 classrooms of our office for approximately 1,100 students. — with Abu Hurairah reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) delivered a Khutbah and said, O people! Hajj (pilgrimage to the House of Allah) has been made incumbent upon you, so perform Hajj. A man inquired: O Messenger of Allah, is it prescribed every year? He remained silent till the man repeated it thrice. Then he said, Had I replied in the affirmative, it would have surely become obligatory, and you would not have been able to fulfill it. Afterwards he said, Do not ask me so long as I do not impose anything upon you, because those who were before you were destroyed on account of their frequent questioning and 5 their disagreement with their Prophets. So when I order you to do something, do it as far as you can; and when I forbid you from doing anything, eschew it. [Muslim] Commentary: This Hadith brings out the following points: 1. Hajj is compulsory once in a lifetime for those who have the means for it. 2. Unnecessary questioning is disliked. 3. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was asked about fasting on the Day of Arafat. He said, “It expiates for the sins of the previous year and of the coming year.” (Muslim) So who will fast tomorrow? Type Yes InshaAllah and lets encourage our whole HOTD family to all fast on Friday! Do we have a deal? How did the Prophet (peace be upon him) stay fit and healthy We become nearest to Allah when were in sujood. So increase duas in sujood. (Muslim) Sometimes I dont want to lift myself from sujood When Umar bin al-Khattab radiallahu `anhu (may God bepleased with him) was walking in the market, he passed by aman who was supplicating, “O...
