MOJO UPDATE: post surgery day one (yesterday). Mojo had ankle surgery on Monday. It was expected to start at 8:30a and take 2 1/2 hrs but only took 1 1/2. The surgeon said it went well and she did very well under anesthesia. She remained in phase I recovery for an extra hour and they were trying to help her control the pain. I finally saw her around 2p. Got her home and made her comfortable in our bed (we have a zero gravity bed). She was loaded up on painkillers and even had a couple visitors, Coach Sell, Coach Bondy, Eric, Paul and Brianna Storms. Micaela slept well until about 4:30a when the nerve blocker (like an epidural) they put into her ankle wore off. She was in agony and I tried my best to comfort her. I laid with her and we slept for another 2 hours until it was time for me to go to work. She was in a lot more pain yesterday so I called the hosp and got a narcotic for her. She seems to be doing better and is managing her pain well. We watched the Moorhead GirlsHockey game on the internet last night. It was nice to hear Mojo commentate on the game and give encouragement via snapchat to her team mates. She has a long road of recovery ahead but definitely has a positive attitude about it.
