MOLALE DEFENDS KHAMA AND DIS Specially elected MP, Eric Molale has lambasted opposition legislators for disrespecting president Ian Khama. In his debut speech in parliament Molale, who was recently appointed Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration ranted and raved about how opposition members of the house had disrespectfully and unfairly criticised president Khama for not attending parliament regularly. “The president did not elect himself into office. As a leader he should be shown respect across the political divide.” Molale advised before he went on to talk about how respect and tolerance were the founding values of the republic. “Theres a need to adhere to those principles so stop complaining and uttering rude remarks when you do not see Khama in parliament because he spends more time with his electorates and we therefore cant really expect him to come and sit here and address his people through press releases and the media. Besides media houses do not even subscribe to the presidents policies ,” Molale charged. The minister also scoffed at claims that the Directorate of Intelligence and Security (DISS) were instilling fear in people. “Only cowards live in fear as they create imaginary monsters in their minds. he noted According to Molale the DIS are doing a sterling job for this country. They have been able to nab foreigners who came to Botswana under suspicious circumstances and even the Commissioner of Police’s latest report has shown that that inductive crimes have been reduced so people should stop talking about DIS as if it’s an orphan of a department and and expect him to be silent, he explained. “I am here to speak on their behalf because enough is enough. said Molale in conclusion
